Why Chelsa Wagner?

In the wake of Bill Peduto's announcement that he is not running for Mayor, all those who have Pittsburgh's best interests at heart must convince State Representative Chelsa Wagner to throw her hat in the ring for Mayor of Pittsburgh next year.

Why Chelsa?

Chelsa Wagner has the experience, integrity and commitment to lead our city to back to prosperity.
She can bring new solutions to the old challenges we face. She can be our voice for new ideas to bring the change we need to end business as usual on Grant Street.

Chelsa Wagner has a no-nonsense approach to government that she developed during her experience as an attorney and professional consultant. She has consistently shown the integrity to make the tough decisions and choose the interests of her constituents over the broken politics of Grant Street.

Chelsa Wagner serves her community with respect, distinction and a sense of duty. She is proud to represent her community and the city of Pittsburgh. She carries the principles of hard work, honest and humility she learned growing up in the Beechview section of Pittsburgh.

Chelsa Wagner is the only candidate who can build a winning coalition of progressive, women, African-American, working class and young voters to end the disastrous Ravenstahl Administration. We owe it to the future of the city to draft Chelsa and begin a new chapter in the history of our great city.

Nice. Welcome to the blogger's landscape.

May this blog has a short and fruitful life.

I announced for mayor in August 2000. I'll start a poll on my wiki asking what month makes the most sense for her to announce.

Give us a break..she couldn't win a committee post in Beechview if not for her dad..."Chelsa Wagner has the experience, integrity and commitment to lead our city to back to prosperity. She can bring new solutions to the old challenges we face." You gotta be joking....

Smitty you're nuts!

I guess her dad held her hand at the Univ of Chicago, Pitt Law School and the Law Firm she worked at too?

She has silenced whatever critics she's had who have tried to attribute her political success to her family.

Since coming into the House she distinguished herself as a leader who is competent and professional.

Smitty you're dead wrong, those talking points are played out.

Smitty, you are so full of it. Finally Beechview/Brookline get a representative who cares and doesn't divert funds intended for those places to 'special projects' where the money then disappears (can anyone say "Diven?"). A representative who represents the neighborhood instead on crooks (can anyone say "Bernardo Katz?" How about "URA?"). So please, quit bashing the one rep we have that isn't trying to screw us over...

qualified, capable or not..she is where she is based on daddy's clout not her qualities...and she is a good person, but not mayor material, cetainly not right now

So what is mayoral material...Luke? Once you get past qualified and capable, you've already left the current administration in the dust. The 'joke' is that she is the only qualified person...

K as long as we're underway I'll ask:

"Chelsa Wagner is the only candidate who can build a winning coalition of progressive, women, African-American, working class and young voters..."

WTF how African American? Does she have any black neighborhoods in her District or have any history with their issues?

Bram, she represents a small portion of Manchester and has stood up for the gun legislation being pushed by Rendell & Legislative Black Caucus members from Pittsburgh & Philly.

To who it may concern:

You must not know Ms. Wagner, her works with the African-American community, or anything concerning the political landscape in a Flat-World!!!

She was one of the first elected officials to publically endorse the CBA campaigns in both the Hill District and Northside communities. Chelsa Wagner attended several dozen neighborhood and townhall meetings with a coalition of African-American organizations, residents, and other representatives to address the concerns of individuals both inside and outside of her "district"!

Infact, I do believe Chelsea Wagner was in attendance at the Northside meeting at the Hazlett Theatre,in which, luke sent official invites to residents..."to address their concerns...", but never showed!!!

I guess a free baseball game ticket and a weiner with everything on it was more important...than addressing how multiple communities will be impacted by the two most important development projects in decades.

In the game of politics, you win...that's it! It's not about whose father supported their child, because any canidate who doesn't have the support of their own family...won't get the support of the communities.

If you don't think she can win, put all your money on luke...it's a good time to go bankrupt!
